Erigir is the second single from efugio, an acoustic project by mexican composer Rodrigo Flores. Generally speaking, efugio’s focus is to keep music simple, allowing works with fresh colors and high accessibility for the listener. Erigir presents itself as a contrast to that idea. It is chaotic and lacks a strong melodic line to take the listener through the song; nonetheless, with rigid shapes that produce sonic corners and with its irregularity, it keeps an interesting flow through the piece.
Erigir is born out of the composer’s need to be at the edge of his capabilities as an instrumentalist. Erigir is a song that could be a guitar exercise. Anyway, with the intention to keep its relationship with efugio’s concept, Erigir maintains a simple development and musical structure.

Erigir es el segundo sencillo de efugio, el proyecto acústico del compositor mexicano Rodrigo Flores. En general el enfoque de efugio es mantener la música en el territorio de lo simple, permitiendo crear obra con colores frescos y un alto grado de accesibilidad para el escucha. En ese sentido, Erigir se presenta como un ligero contraste. Su naturaleza es más caótica y carece de una línea melódica fuerte que sea capaz de llevar al escucha a través de la pieza; sin embargo, se construye de figuras rígidas que producen esquinas sonoras, logrando con su irregularidad mantener el flujo de la pieza.
Erigir responde más a la necesidad del compositor por mantenerse al filo de sus capacidades como ejecutante. Erigir es una pieza que bien podría ser un ejercicio de guitarra. De todos modos, en la intención de mantener cercanía con los valores de efugio, Erigir mantiene un desarrollo y estructura simple.
